At De Roek, you can find various herb gardens. During your stay, you’re welcome to pick fresh herbs from our gardens to use while preparing meals.
You can find the following herbs in our garden:
Sage, Rosemary, Oregano, Thyme, Mint, Chives, Dill, Coriander, and Nasturtium.
Sustainable gardening
For maintaining the herb garden, we choose a consciously sustainable approach to minimize environmental impact and collaborate as much as possible with nature.
We do not use pesticides or chemical products against weeds or insects. We promote the growth of herbs by adding our own compost. For example, eggshells are extremely effective for a nourishing soil; they break down quickly and provide nutrients to the soil. Additionally, the shells help in controlling slugs.
