At De Roek, you’re in the right place for a vacation with a child with special needs. Our petting farm (also a care farm) is especially popular, where there’s a chance to assist with feeding the animals daily and, of course, plenty of animals to cuddle with.

Friendly and kind holiday park
When you are on a vacation with a child with a disability, it’s comforting to be able to retreat when needed. At our small-scale, spacious holiday park, you can enjoy your own haven: a vacation cottage in the woods. Your cottage comes with a private terrace and garden, and your closest neighbors are the birds and squirrels.
The petting zoo
Almost every child – intellectually disabled or not – enjoys a visit to our petting farm. Here, the children can get to know our animals. Together, pet the guinea pigs and rabbits, observe the busy chickens, laugh at our funny kunekune pigs, and come admire the newborn lambs in spring. Your vacation with a child with a disability will truly become a celebration.
Every day, the children can also help Neil with feeding the animals and take a ride on our gentle Tinker horse. Neil only takes Sundays off.
You might also encounter one of our supervisors with participants at the petting farm. De Roek operates as a Care company six days a week, serving individuals with intellectual disabilities, among others.
Enjoy holiday together
Our park isn’t specifically designed for vacations with children with disabilities, but we’ve noticed that our natural, spacious layout and atmosphere are very comfortable for intellectually disabled children. Parents enjoy the green surroundings and tranquility, while children love the animals and have a great time in our playground with sand and water.

Some fun tips:
- Your pet is welcome too! Bring your dog or rabbit along to our holiday park; these cottages are pet-friendly. The rest of the cottages are kept pet-free.
- On our terrace, we serve coffee, tea, or juice on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings. This is accompanied by a specially crafted cookie developed by our chef: a “Hopke.”
