Hardly seen or heard that there were other holidaymakers around. Just my own spot among the trees. My only neighbors seemed to be the squirrels and the many different birds. Children and grandchildren were completely delighted by the calves, lambs, young goats and pigs, chicks, rabbits, and chickens at the petting zoo. The experience of being in a cottage far away from the inhabited world, a private terrace, a private garden… A small-scale park entails a personal spot and a tranquil environment. The heathland just a 5 minute walk away and for children, there’s a very charming petting zoo and a fun playground on the premises. Surroundings
In the vicinity, you can enjoy beautiful bike rides, plan a walk across the heath, or join the forest ranger for a guided walk through the woods on Sundays. Additionally, the Hoge Veluwe National Park is just a few kilometers away from De Roek. In de omgeving kunt u prachtige fietstochten maken, een wandeling over de heide uitstippelen of laat u op zondag door de boswachter meenemen door het bos. Ook Nationale Park de Hoge Veluwe ligt maar een paar kilometer bij De Roek vandaan. Een heerlijk rustig vakantiehuisje tijdens carnaval, in een prachtige omgeving: u vindt bij ons op de Veluwe.
Good to know:
- We have a small organic shop on the premises.
- Even during the carnival holiday, you can order a delicious freshly prepared meal every Friday.
- On our terrace, we serve coffee, tea, or juice from Monday to Saturday morning between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. This comes with a specially crafted cookie developed by our chef: a “Hopke.”
- We are an eco-friendly holiday park. Your pet is welcome!
- Bring your pet along to your vacation cottage on the Veluwe; these cottages are pet-friendly. The remaining bungalows are kept pet-free.
- For the animals at the petting farm, we collect ‘past-date’ vegetables and bread from the local supermarket every day.
