The Roek Vacation Bungalows is a wonderful place for people and also for animals. Our Finnish bungalows are located in the middle of the woods and the beautiful nature The Veluwe. Our small-scale holiday park “De Roek” is situated right in the beautiful Veluwe forests. As our guest, you’ll enjoy the greenery, the birds, and the cozy, laid-back atmosphere every day. Unwind in our Finnish holiday home or in a forest bungalow. Take a look at the various cottages here.

Green holidaypark: eco-vacantion
Green is a trendy term nowadays, but for us, it has been a matter of course for years. We always seek ways to lessen the environmental impact, such as the use of solar panels. Our linens are made from organic cotton, and to save energy, we’ve developed specialized dryers. We also strive to use organic products as much as possible.
In our organic shop, you can find products like coffee, licorice, rice, beer, pasta, and cleaning supplies (all organic). During the summer, we offer delicious ice cream, and additionally, we have organic meat from Jersey bulls.
Every Friday, our chefs prepare a delicious organic vegetarian meal for those who are interested. If you arrive on a Friday, the meal will be ready for you upon arrival at the bungalow. Of the €7.50 per person cost for the meal, €1 goes towards a culinary training project for chefs in Bolivia.
Outdoor fun at our Petting Zoo
At the Petting Zoo, kids can enjoy petting and kuddle with our animals. Pet the guinea pigs and rabbits, delight in the bustling chickens, laugh at our kind and amusing Kune Kune pigs, and come admire the newborn lambs in spring. Sustainability is also central to the children’s farm.
Every day, children can assist in feeding the animals and take a ride on our sweet pony Tinker. On Sundays, Neil takes a day of rest.
At the children’s farm, you might also encounter one of our “hard workers.” De Roek is also a care company five days a week.
Interesting to know for your sustainable vacation:
- Eco: With 132 solar panels, we provide 80% of De Roek’s total energy consumption.
- We have 3 charging stations for electric cars to promote sustainability.
- Your pet is welcome! Bring your dog or rabbit along to our holiday park. Pets are allowed in these cottages.
- The Hoge Veluwe National Park is only a 15-minute walk away. Here, you can enjoy cycling with the famous white bicycles or take a cultural trip to the Kröller Müller Museum. For the animals at the children’s farm, we collect vegetables and bread that have passed their expiration date from the local supermarket every day. We also feed our animals with organic pellets and, when available, organic hay and straw. This is another way we show our commitment to sustainability.
- On our terrace, from Monday to Saturday morning 10:00-12:00, we serve coffee, tea, or a juice. Of course, with a special cookie developed by our chef: a Hopke. We also serve delicious homemade apple pie.
